The European Investment Bank
The EIB is the European Union's
long-term lending institution, supporting projects giving practical expression to EU objectives in the Union and other countries throughout the world.
The EIB makes use of three financial instruments;
- Individual loans for public and private sectors, including banks.
- Global loans; made available to banks or financial institutions, which onlend the proceeds for small or medium-scale investment projects meeting the Bank's criteria.

Venture capital; targeted at strengthening the equity base of high-technology
SMEs and those with strong growth potential.
